An inside view of Really Right Stuff
« on: October 02, 2013, 12:59:08 am »

Hi all,

I work as a photographer for the New Times, a weekly paper in San Luis Obispo, CA and recently I had the opportunity to visit and photograph a day of work at Really Right Stuff whose corporate headquarters are in SLO (San Luis Obispo).

Here is the article link:

Love to hear your comments.

Steve,

You photographs and the accompanying text are great. It is gratifying to see that manufacturing can still be done in the USA. I have quite a bit of RSS gear and have found it to be first rate with impeccable fit and finish. Their stuff is rather pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Regards,

Bill

I've got RRS gear I bought in the mid-ninties from the old owner.  Back in those days, you really had to want it.  It was not all that easy to buy.  He didn't accept credit cards.  If you wanted to buy something, you called and talked to him and then wrote a check and put it in the mail.

Thank you Colorado David! Joe did mention this in our interview and I had heard about it back in the day... I think on this site in fact :)

Bill, thank you!
I was actually compelled to do the article based on the fact that they find it so important to manufacture in the USA even though Joe had plenty of opportunities from his past business work to set up manufacturing in Asia.

I must say a thank you also. I believe their tripods are incredible and I wouldn't use anything else. They could do a better job on their ballheads.

I love their kit. The only problem is the import duty and postage costs to the UK
