Z3200 not printing tiff

Hello, my Hp Z3200ps randomly has stopped printing any file type but jpg.  It gives me a message about network connection etc.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any suggestions?  I have updated firmware and software to no avail.

When my Z3100 does that I cure it with a full power down and reboot.  Which only happens 1-2 times a year.

No dice with the hard restart it sits idle, powered off for a month at a time and I wondered if I had updated my computer OS and there was some incompatibility there but alas, having upgraded all the HP software did not solve the problem as I mentioned.

What kind of Z3200, PS or Not, driver PS3 or PCL3 and printing from an application or through HP Print Utility? No file size differences between your JPEG and TIFF that could be the real problem? Entirely flattened 8 bit TIFF? Tried more than one Tiff? In my experience the Zs are omnivores and not so picky on the file type.

Thank you Ernst, all good questions: Z3200 PS 44", I believe its a PCL3 printing through the HP utility via USB.  Flattened 8 bit tiff or psd.  Tried many different files of varying sizes.  I get a message of network connection problems.

TIFFs can be CMYK, if you use the PCL3 driver it may not accept a CMYK one or in best case do an ugly color transformation. Try the PS3 driver with HP Print utility.
If that is not the cause you should try to print a TIFF from another application to the PCL3 driver. What actually goes to the driver from an application is not even a TIFF to my knowledge but BMP or something like that on Windows.

Hmm I'll try it tonight.  I'm working on mac with RGB so maybe that is not the driver I'm using.  Will try playing around and post the results.
