I am not sure I understand your question. Either the variant or the original can be selected. Or, and maybe this is your issue, both can be selected. If both have been selected select a different image to deselect the original and its variant. Now you can select the desired variant by itself.

Sorry, my English is so bad that I have difficult to explain correctly.

I did photo shoot and i like to see all images in B&W.
I did clone for all images and I created a clone variation.
Some times I want export only B&W version, but with 900 images is hard select manualy, or boring :)
When I create clone variation I can see little number like "filename-0002 [2]" this number identify the variation, but I can't filtering.
I like some filtering like we have with stars or color tag, but for variations, I want to filtering only 2st variation, or 3th variation.

Do you understand?

Sorry if I not explain very well yet.

Select All
Tag Green
Clone Variant
Tag Blue
Apply B+W

From then on you can view/adjust/export just the [color] or [b+w] version by filtering the view to show only  tagged images or only  tagged images.

We cover this and other advanced workflows in our Capture One Masters Program.

Hi Doug,
I know work with C1. I know do this tricks with color tags or stars.
I was really looking for filtering by variation number.
Color tag I using for mark my choose. My best pictures I mark with 5 stars and Green Tag.
The worst pictures I mark with 0 stars and Red Tag.
All other images I mark with 1- 4 stars.

If I have double to the same picture one in color and other in b&w, but I want to keep the same marks but filtering, do you know!

I don't remember very well, but I think I wore it in the Apple Apperture.
