All the sets are now gloss comparable, I'm told... Ask them to double check

I believe the most popular one  by far is the selenium tone hue K7 set.

do the matte and gloss inks both install together in the printer or are they swapped out depending on which paper you use?

any K7 (or K6) gloss setups use a second pass with gloss optimizer. You let the print dry or dry it, then run it back through the printer selcting the QTR curve to print GO only.
No ink changes.. matte one pass, gloss 2 passes- the second with GO

As long as the printer has enough ink slots, you can run both matte and glossy K7 MPS on the same printer.  The GO requires its own channel (ink slot).  You should be fine with the 2880.  The most difficult thing will be choosing the inkset you want to use!

All K7 inks are now glossy compatible. I'm using a 2880 and Cone Type 5 glossy paper with a 50-50 mixture of K7 Selenium and Warm Neutral in all positions. First pass for the image, let dry, then second pass with Gloss Overcoat. Works great. I'm printing some of my Brooks Jensen type folios this way. See www.JohnCustodio.com
