Thanks all. Andrew's right, this isn't much about the photography; it's about what I used to call my wife's "outhouse cabinet." I remember a cabinet just about like this on the wall of the outhouse behind our cottage in northern Michigan, when I was a kid. (Rob has a point.) But it didn't have pictures and bottles in it or on it.
It's a bit difficult to get to the cabinet with lights since it's tucked into a corner with a long table in front of it. I tried various combinations and ended up with a single SB700 in a small softbox, high and camera right as the best solution, at least for now, while I'm relearning this stuff. The table itself is another of my girl's still lifes. I'll shoot it as soon as I can figure out how to duck the reflections from the print on the wall. (The available light snapshot gives you a rough idea of the problem.)
