Hi all,
There is a new release candidate for Lightroom and ACR on Adobe labs. It has some bug fixes and reworks the demosaicing for the Fuji X-Trans used in the X-Pro 1 and X-E1 etc.
Alan
Preamble:
Generally I have had good results with LR4.3 processed X-trans files printed on 13"x19" inch paper.
Only a few of my LR4.3 files exhibited the so called 'water color' effect in a significant way when printed, same goes for 'color smearing'.
The good news:
I installed 4.4rc last evening and processed some of my more problematic X-trans Raf files with it.
4.4rc has even better results overall and solves the 'problems' that I could see when pixel peeping 4.3 processed files.
The 4.4rc processed files are more tolerant of sharpening than were the 4.3 processed files.
To my eye and by my criteria (prints on paper) 4.4rc is significant evolution/improvement in de-mosaicing the X-trans files.
Adobe has bettered FujiFilm's in-camera Jpeg de-mosaicing.
GREAT JOB Adobe guys (and girls)! The bad news:
Now I'm going to be spending more money adding to my Xpro-1 kit.
My DSLR kit is feeling un-loved.
Thanks again Adobe,
