When to apply AF Fine tuning?
« on: February 17, 2013, 06:29:15 am »

Dear All,

Nikon manual said it is not recommended to apply AF fine tuning unless necessary.

When to apply af fine tuning is appropriate?

When your lenses aren't focusing as well as they could be.

When your lenses aren't focusing as well as they could be.

Hi,

That's correct, but only if there is a systematic bias towards front or back-focusing every time. AF fine tuning works great for removing the bias, but there will always be some inaccuracy left depending on the AF system and lens.

Cheers,
Bart
