C1_7.02 editing problem

hi there,
downloaded demo of C1_7.02 to try out support for the Xpro files.
 on my laptop the application crashed every 10 mins.
now installed on the macpro with 14gb of ram.
importing worked, but it now displays a crossed out pencil or other and editing is completely disabled.
no clue what is happening there
any hints?

found the problem...
i did not go thru the trial process.somehow the catalog opened with out prompting me about the trial period.
now it did and the icon is gone and editing works.
still a few glitches though.
when I go to full screen and click on the arrow at the top or sides the programm freezes and i have to restart it.
is that normal?
