color and texture deep in the forest
« on: January 29, 2013, 02:19:50 am »

This is a follow up to a forest panorama I posted for critique a while back.

A brief explanation of where I am going for more inspiration here.

I tried to add lines of high contrast to draw in closer attention to the background filagree of leaves, moss and finer branches. I like how the abstract presentation of color and texture echoes impressionist paintings, and the darker shapes provide blocks of substance for balance.

Let me know what you think.

The lack of a focal point means that my eyes are searching for something to latch onto and failing. A bird somewhere or a naked rambler - male or female - would help. I think the images would be a good background for something? Well processed and nicely sharpened. :)
