I honestly don't see an advantage to have two separate pieces of software instead of one piece nested into the other. Also, why those editing capabilities in Media Pro?
The Capture One Pro 7 catalog with its ability to view images offline seems to be a good direction.
Besides what David pointed out about different file type, is the ability to allocate memeory and resources from an editing task then almost simultaniously doing file managment and fast drive access tasks.
Already C1v7 has been crashing on me more regularly since the forst v7.01 update. Before it v7 was pretty solid as I expereinced. (It could have been my usage?). Now introducing this constant switch from 2 hungry tasks will likely complicate the matter.
It's tough to hear how MediaPro would be eventually phased out. I purchased it, and out the gate, I wasn't able to use it properly. It had issues with PSD files, and large TIFs, which made my purchase Codecs and still had issues with varying TIF files of different bits or other variables making up PSD and TIF files, I just gave up and thought I'd wait for an upgrade....Sad really. I didn't even use it.
