over the shoulder "Slings"
« on: November 12, 2012, 06:42:04 pm »

I have seen two brands of popular over-the-shoulder slings to carry a camera on the hip, to allow for any easy transfer of camera-to-eye.  I do not like the one that attaches to the tripod screw-in point on the camera bottom, because it makes for a cumbersome transfer to a tripod.

Just, google "Swivel Hooks for a 1 1/2" Strap", "1 1/2 Triglides", "1 1/2" webbing"  (5.5' is plenty) and you can be well on you way to making one for well under $50 for a pro model.  (eg. c. $5)  No sewing is necessary.  You can figure out how to attach it to your camera with just a key ring, too.  (I got all that was needed at a local REI)

I have one made by Kirk which attaches to the tripod bracket. Really good idea, but I still don't trust the single attachment point straps. Most of my friends who use them love them however!
