HDR toning
« on: October 04, 2012, 10:40:35 am »

I have been playing with HDR toning in Photoshop and have noticed something curious. In some pictures, equalizing the histogram gives the pictures what I find to be an appealing 3 dimensionality. Can you explain why this is?

In most pictures it gives the image an artificial look that is unappealing but sometimes it really seems to "work"

How about an example, with and without the processing?
