Camera Raw for CS3
« on: August 28, 2012, 11:06:56 am »

I am using PS CS3 with ACR v.4.6.0.30. I would like to know if there is a newer version that is compatible with CS3?

It looks like ACR 4.6 is the latest version the 4.x line. You might want to use DNG Converter if your camera isn't supported by this version of ACR.

I'll ditto François, I think if you use DNG converter, you should be able to convert newer raw files to open within older versions of Photoshop. I used this workflow and raw+jpeg a few years ago to open my files while I awaited a Photoshop upgrade.

Today, there doesn't seem to be quite that time lag between a new raw format and an update to ACR/Lightroom to handle the new "flavor".

The software for DNG converter is free for the downloading and worth a try.
