Has anyone tried using Focal on the 7D with the Version 2 firmware? I have read comments the firmware affected existing MA's. In another forum one person mentioned having a problem with Focal but there has been no confirmation from others.

Thanks,
Bill

Initial tests with a 7D f/w V2: no problems with the Pro version (V1.51).

I plan to re-do my Focal tests with the new 1.5.1 version and the updated 7D v2.0.

My results using Focal have been so-so: it seems that finding a single number that improves AF at all focal lengths, at all distances, at all focus motor directions etc is hard. This suggests to me that the "bias" in the Canon AF system is more complex than what can be easily corrected by a single offset.

I have got a lengthy post about my experiences with FoCal here:

The current version is 1.5.2.

I plan to run through some lenses and bodies now that I have my lighting properly set up.
