morie removal in capture one vs leaf capture

I'm beginning to think that Leaf Capture is better at this... any opinions?

Moire is a more complex and varied topic than you might think. Pattern moire on a fabric shot with a 22mp digital back and color moire on architectural features with a 60mp digital back and color moire on bird feathers with a D800 are all "moire" but each will handle a bit differently in C1, LC, LR, and in manual retouching.

Perhaps you could post a few raw files and allow the community here to provide some feedback more specific to your issues. Of course this may not be possible/prudent depending on your type of work, status of the raw files within your business or personal workflow etc. In that case perhaps you could at least post some comparative before/after screen grabs.

Also have you played with both the "amount" and the "pattern" sliders? The pattern can be important when the moire is varying in a larger than 1px radius pattern (i.e. bit multi-pixel swaths of color rather than speckled single-pixel color). Are you using the Moire tool in C1 on the entire image or as a local adjustment just to the applicable areas?

And perhaps you could expand upon "better" as that term doesn't tell us readers much.

As usual on the forum: the more detailed and explained your question the better and more relevant the reply.

Ok will do when I get a chance .. no problem with the images being available.  Yes and "better" is a subjective term.  Will do as soon as I can.

Here we go the first two here are capture one with and without adjustments and the second two are Leaf Capture with and without.
I may be overlooking some other settings in C1 the sharpness for example is at 197 with a radius of .8
Does the C1 Sharpening add to the sharpening already applied in LC I wonder.  PS note the red area and how it is affected.
Hopefully the file names of the images will tell you which ones they are

Subjective or not I think it's hard to disagree with the use of "better" in these examples.

The LC rendering kills the C1 rendering in this example.

I'd be interested in this raw file if you can send it to me. Email me at dep@digitaltransitions.com and I'll reply with our upload link (no FTP or accounts required).

Also, could you specify for everyone what back, body, and lens were being used here and how representative this work is of your day-to-day work. In other words is this file, and it's rendering in each, typical for the files you've been throwing at them or is it an aberration/unusual-case?

The difference is fairly dramatic.
