I was trying to make a profile for an Epson 4900 with a glossy and a matte paper. The client had Windows 7 and Photoshop CS6. I've used to assign Adobe RGB to the profiling chart and then use Adobe RGB as the printer profile. But when I came to the printer dialog I couldn't choose Adobe RGB as a printer profile. I couldn't see any common workspace, no Adobe RGB, no ColorMatch RGB, no sRGB or Prophoto RGB. The only work space I could see was Wide Gamut RGB. I've since tested this on another Windows 7/Photoshop CS6 combination and it was the same problem on that computer.
Since I couldn't print the profiling charts through Photoshop, I downloaded Adobe Color Printing Utility and tried to print the charts that way. In the Epson driver I chose Matte ink and a media setting for Archival Matte. But when the chart came to the printer queue it said that the media setting was Premium Luster and the ink set was Photo black.
I then tried with a semigloss paper, and chose Premium Semi Gloss as media setting. Once again the printer queue said that the media setting was Premium Luster.
Any suggestions how to print a chart on a computer running W7?
