Using Format's Hitech 10-stop ND filter in a Lee Foundation kit

I am shooting some long exposure coastal work and need to use a 10-stop filter. Getting a Lee Big Stopper is impossible, with a lead time of 6-8 months. So I purchased a Format Hitech Pro Stop 10. The reviews of it are as good, and better in some ways, than the Big Stopper.

The Format filter slides in the Lee foundation holder, but the thickness of the foam seal (that borders the filter) is a bit too thick. That causes the filter to bow outward. And that allows light leaks on two of the four sides.

Has anyone ran into this problem? If so, what can I do?

Hi Tech make 2 different versions of their 10 stop ND - one is designed to fit Hi Tech filter holder and the other the Lee holder...

Is it possible you've got a Hitech filter for a Hitech holder, not a Lee holder?
