Canon lens repairs
« on: March 29, 2012, 09:18:08 pm »

Hi,
I have just acquired an otherwise mint condition Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L that needs work: a possible spot of fungus on the edge of the rear element and the AF/MF  switch isn't working (stuck in AF mode). The lens was apparently used and stored for a couple of years before it was sold.

Anyone have an idea of repair costs in the USA?

I recently sent my 85L II to Canon Service Centre in Irvine for a thorough overhaul.  They sent me a quote of $189 for the job.  The amount includes a 30% discount since I am a CPS Gold level member.
