The link mentions that the 5DX would be announced around Photokina.

True or not, I am not sure these rumors are helping Canon sell the 5DIII bodies they are able to put in the hands of photographers today... besides, what are the odds that Canon magically manages to deliver better DR in a 45 megapixel camera compared to a 22mp one?

These rumors may be preventing some photographers from switching over to the D800 but think of the frustration if a 5DX September announcement results in early 2013 availability with top resolution but lower performance on other metrics?

How are the many photographers who have been rationalizing that 22mp in a 5DIII is more than enough going to react to a bold resolution increase?

True or not, it sounds like a disastrous release planning to me.

Cheers,
Bernard

At last! I have been heard:

"It's rumored that Canon will release new 'High Megapixel MIRRORLESS  Fullframe' Camera around September 2012"

(right under the image of the 5Dx; my emphasis)

Rejoice ye burdened landscapers!
