Solar Dervish

I took my dog and a small tent up onto the Snowdonia mountains of North Wales on Friday night, with a favourable forecast and a hope to get some sunset/sunrise pictures. This is the summit of Glyder Fach (which literally means "The little pile of boulders" in Welsh). As the sun was setting, I was taking a picture of some rock features illumineted by the setting sun. I just happened to glance over my shoulder to see chaos happening in the sky and land - a Solar Dervish?

Very dramatic sky along with the textured rock and good framing…

Very nice that, love it. I've been for a walk up to Llyn Idwal today with my dog. Nice walk and I did lug the camera sack along but nothing spectacular taken - very bright sunshine giving far too much contrast and not a cloud in sight. I just enjoyed the walk in the glorious sunshine, and the dog swam and ran to her hearts content.

Best of bad lot really, not had a serious play with anything in Photoshop as yet but I may give them a go tomorrow and see what comes out.
