LT Lightside was great!

Now I'm off to LA and Orange County.

Best labs out there?

The Icon is great. A&I is bigger, and I think it's important to support the smaller one, so there's more than one lab left in the city.

In Los Angeles:

ICON

www.iconla.com

very good lab(full service, b/w, c-41, e-6)

If you're shooting E-6(slide film), and in Orange County, give Rochelle @ Datachrome your business. E-6 is all she does, and she does it very well. All my E-6(which is 80+% of what I shoot film-wise) goes to her. She has a fast turnaround too, usually within 3hrs or so from drop-off(latest the next business day).

Icon runs a better line than A+I.

After using A&I for the past 20 years, I've had enough of them. They continue to disappoint me for various reasons, the last of which is them dropping E-6! So they are no longer getting my business. The Icon is my new favorite lab.

I have been using Icon for some years now. Nothing but the best quality and best customer service. They work with the biggest names in photography and they really do care!

Just go to Icon and make your life easy.

Back when I shot a lot of film did A+I for a long time until they messed up big.  Fuji found over a dozen major issues with their processing.

Also tried Paris (no) and others.  When Narudulli was in business they were good, but now it's Icon.

Period.

RPL does better work than most labs (excluding Icon) but their customer service is really bad.  If you want attitude go to RPL.

In all fairness I have heard nothing but good about Richard Photo Lab. I recently tried a few prints with them and they were great. I have also used A&I for processing and scanning and that was great too. But I have been using Icon in LA for some time and they have been just outstanding for quality and customer service. And personally for many reasons they have been more than considerate to me. That does make it tough to go or recommend somewhere else.
