I just upgraded my old Silverfast version to the new Version 8 and found out,
that the infrared dust and scratch removal iSRD now works for Nikon scanners on Windows (My Nikon LS 9000 ED) and
we don't have do rely on Digital ICE alone anymore. This was possible only on MAC before.
This is a huge improvement and a call at Lasersoft this morning confirmed
they have rewritten the driver and it is really so and not some sort of substitute trick.
So we Nikon-Windows users now can get 64 bit TIFF files with 16 bits of infrared data out of our machines for later editing.
I thought some of you might want to know this.
SF 8 still has some child diseases they are working on, but overall for Nikon users on Windows I believe its a huge improvement.
