Canon PGI-9PC PhotoCyan Ink Disco'd?!? (PIXMA PRO9500)

I have been using a PIXMA PRO9500 for some time - and still plan on using it for small prints.  I noticed when ordering ink today that a number of suppliers showed that the PhotoCyan cartridge was disco'd as of Dec. 2nd.  I can assume a number reasons why...all not necessarily good.  Does anyone have any real hard information on this move?  I would appreciate feedback.
