Nikon D7000 - which lens?
« on: August 27, 2011, 05:29:46 am »

Hi

If you were only able to buy one prime lens for landscape on the D7000 - what would you choose/recommend?

Many thanks
William

IMHO. The combination of new zooms & new DSLR does give one great flexibilties. I use 17-55 f2.8 with D7000. I NEVER have a moments when I think what if I used primes.
I have been shooting & developing since late 60s, so 50+yrs of Hasselblad, Canon & Nikon. Do check out great zooms before being tied down to only Prime. I know that's not what you asked, since there were no replies, so I thought I'd give my 2c. :)

Hi Sean

Thanks for the reply - I am inclined to agree with you. I was asked this question yesterday, and since I don't use Nikon, I thought someone might have great lens in mind.

I checked out photozone and the Nikkor AF-S DX 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED VR looked like a good place to start.

Thanks again!

Zeiss primes for Nikon also should do their usual miracles, as old reliable workhorse. I believe their ZF.2 series has Nikon mount. But does get expensive.
