Of note to those who may have purchased the Guide to Image Quality:

I have added a short video on the use of Lens Align for front and back focus adjustments.

I overlooked this little segment in the original series of files that relate to image quality. It has been added to the fifth zip file of the Guide to Image Quality which is identified as a Placeholder.

The video will also be available within the first of the new zip files (c2ps-13.zip) of the full C2PS tutorial and will likely be in place this afternoon.

The first videos of a series on Image Processing will be available within two weeks

An hour & a half of new content today.

These videos make up the first half of the content of a new sub-section on Image Processing in Lightroom, Camera Raw or Photoshop.

- The Workflow in Lightroom taking a colour image from ingest to Print

- The Workflow in colour from CameraRaw through Photoshop to Print
This video is accompanied by a folder containing four Photoshop Actions on Color to B&W, Midtone Contrast, Print Actions & Progressive Sharpening

- A discussion on Bit Depth
- A discussion on JPEG & RAW
- A demonstration of a Linear vs. a Gamma Encoded image
- A demonstration of the Local Adjustment Brush in Lightroom
- A demonstration of HDR using Blending in Photoshop

The next set of videos that make up the balance of Image Processing, will be available at the end of November. They will cover Sharpening, Noise Reduction and the conversion to and working in Black & White.

Today I have added new content to bring the running time of Camera to Print & Screen to just shy of 10 hours...

The new videos are:

- A discussion about Inks, PrintHeads & the archival properties of todays's prints

- A discussion about papers and how to handle the enormous choice. Examples include Photo & Watercolour papers - with & without Optical Brightening Agents (Jeff likes them, Michael does not!)

- A brief look at printing personal snapshots with a PictureMate

- A visit to Andrew Collett's gallery with discussions on printing canvas & face-mounted prints for sale and running a successful commercial gallery

- The techniques involved in printing, spraying, stretching & mounting canvas prints. A close look is taken at creating 'gallery-wrap' edges for canvas. A look at the equipment and processes involved in face-mounting photographs to acrylic and aluminium.
