Good shooting, Ray, especially the rooster. You don't often get a rooster on the street.
Thanks, Russ. I think maybe the rooster is walking the wrong way. Can't he read the sign?
Perhaps an unfortunate side effect of visiting countries like Nepal is that I find it difficult to get excited about the normal acitivities of life in the cities in Australia.
These Nepalese in the countryside have such a hard life and take on such arduous physical tasks as a matter of course, without thinking twice, I almost feel embarrassed when I see scenes in the cities in developed countries, of people lounging around and having an easy time.
I saw the guy in the attached photo coming towards me, after I'd climbed over a 5ft wall. He looked old and his load looked heavy. I asked my guide to ask him his age and how heavy was the load. He claimed to be 60, and his load 60Kg. Maybe too much of a coincidence to be true, but he certainly looked old, and his load certainly looked heavy. I can see there's a carton of Pepsi there.
I wondered how he'd manage to climb over that stone wall, and waited till he reached it, then took the shot.
He managed it okay. What a way to earn a living! But at least he's probably a lot healthier and fitter than many 60-year olds in developed countries, despite the lack of vitamin pills and good medical care.
