Jim, I was just thinking of a solution for quick proofs. I don't want to have to mount every neg on the drum just to see if I ilike it. Actually I've just migrated to a new workflow for the drum scanner that is producing gorgeous results!  Scanning in 48 bit HDR RAW mode and then inverting the negs with the ColorPerfect plugin.  It handles film really nicely.

Another off the drum scanner with the new workflow.  Files are finally really starting to feel like they're from Neg stock...
Drag is, the SK SS 150 XL really feels like it needs the CF which is going to make it hard to mount the Big Stopper.

Chris,
Have you tried mounting the Big Stopper [behind] the rear element, instead of in front?

Not yet... though when I shot film for a living, I had 3" filter frames mounted semi-permanently behind all my lenses.  Hmm... maybe I'll get a screw-in 3.0 ND for the rear element.

Here we go with a negative about 15 years old I shot on the half plate camera below. Waterhouse stops, in frame, no shutter, lens cap off and count the secs. Lens is dated 1904, have they got any sharper?
Can't remember the emulsion but you could still get half plate (6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inch) off the shelf then. looks like my wash and fix is holding up. Anyway the V850 was the test so this is just on the scanner bed @1200 nothing on top straight scan with the Epson scan programme then downsized for web.
I'm off now to look at technical cameras  ;D
Apologies for the rotten camera product shot just needed a quick and dirty one for Flickr.

PS. Here is a screengrab. Pana GH4. Video is fun, I always loved those out of focus light disks, and for some reason thought they were hard to achieve :)

Christmas Ships here in Seattle - this is the finale last year with the H4D-50.  I've got the 645Z for this year and the 28-45mm lens, should be fun.
