Hi everyone,
I like to shoot birds in flight. I know some people use a tripod for that. What is your technique?
Cheers

I'm just getting started with birds, but good Tripod, Fast Telephoto lens, Wimberly head or equivalent (mandatory IMO) so the lens is correctly balanced and easy to track.
A lot of folks have success handheld with a midrange zoom +TC, or prime in the 300-400mm range. You also need a fast focusing, and shooting camera (I use a 1d IV).
I strongly suggest heading over bird specialty forum at
http://www.birdphotographers.net
and to Art Morris site,
http://www.birdsasart.com/
Regards
