photo library software

I am in the process of photographing a  large collection of paintings for a wealthy owner which are located in three houses. The owner wants to use some software to create a library of images that he can cross reference such  location of painting, artists name, costs, etc. It needs to be reasonably simple to use,  and the images need to be seen. Perhaps some sort of basic keywording programme?

Any ideas ?

Something like IMatch found at photools.com would likely do the trick.

It has the functions of search by keyword and by image metadata. Images can be stored offline if necessary.  Not too expensive and a fairly easy learning curve.

iMatach has the ability to perform boolean searches on categories (e.g., Turner but not seascape) which can be very handy, but IMO the learning curve might be a tad steep unless your client is pretty comfortable around a computer.  I do believe they have a trial.

For basic keywording, don't most of the image-browser type applications (infranview or whatever its called) provide that?
