SOLD! Epson Golden Ticket

Selling an Epson Golden Ticket for $250.00. This ticket can be used for a $500.00 rebate in addition to the current $500.00 rebate towards the purchase of an Epson 4900, 7890, or 9890.

The terms are somewhat a concern:

Offer applies to end user, original customers only. No resellers, distributors or dealers. Offer is not transferable.

I am the end user. I received the ticket at the Photo Expo show at Javitz Intended to purchase a 4900 but changed my mind.

Understood, but can you sell it (wouldn’t that be a transfer)?

I’m not a lawyer nor play one on TV. But its possible you are stuck with it. Dunno.

There is nothing on the ticket to link it to any specific person. It is generic. If you found the ticket on the street it would be perfectly valid as far as I know.

I'm going to go on a rant here and I don't particularly care what anyone thinks....

You were presented with a discount coupon in order to encourage you to buy a product. You not only decided not to buy the product, but to profit from the goodwill gesture of either a dealer or manufacturer.

I will go on record as offering a golden ticket to any end users that want to buy a qualifyiung printer from me. I am an authorized dealer and have a number of them available. The golden tickets expire at the end of this month.

I'm frankly sick and tired of some of the people here that have nothing better to do than badmouth dealers, go behind their backs to do shady deals and then complain that we don't offer rock bottom prices along with instant service an unlimited inventory.

What f***ing great way to end the week...I'm outta here.

I can assure you that in Canada, anyway, both golden tickets and mail in rebates CAN be used together.

They are stackable in the USA as well. Each of the tickets are serial numbered , I think so they know which dealers they came from. The printer must be invoiced by the end of feb for the golden ticket to be valid.

Both the Golden Ticket AND the $500 rebate coupon say they each can not be used with other promotions. Buyer beware, but if anyone here wants to give away $250, email me and I'll send the address ::)

I have verified by calling the phone number on the rebate form that it is a stackable rebate and both rebates will be honored. The golden ticket explicitly says on it:

" This offer may be combined with other Epson Stylus Pro Rebate offers."

This is the USA...  Nowhere on the planet are such offers, deals, combo's etc such a big part of the whole marketing shtick...

Live and let live... if Epson were at all bothered by this they wouldn't have given them out without taking a name,address and phone number would they....?

All they want is your money... we are in a recession are we not... all they care about as sales, sales and more sales... so however they get a sale doesn't worry them.  So a guy buys a $500 off ticket for $250... what has Epson lost...?  Nothing, they have gained a sale at a price they can do business with...

I don't see the debate at all...  do enlighten me....?


As for doing Epson a favour...?  come on... do me a favour and help make Epson bring down the price of gold... sorry I mean ink.....

You may find this difficult to believe, but there are actually dealers out there (like me) that really do want thier clients to get the best possible value.

I agree with this. Another thing about good dealers or VARs: they pick up the phone and give you product support when you need to get a question answered. They will also go to bat for you if you've got issues with a piece of faulty equipment you've purchased from a given manufacturer. I've never had a problem paying a premium for outstanding customer service. And by the way, I'm a self-employed working photographer. I do detest the idea of someone profiting off of something that wasn't intended to be sold or resold by unauthorized individuals.
