Capture One 6 bugs thread
« on: December 01, 2010, 10:59:43 pm »

Ruh-roh... haven't even had it a day and already I got problems.

I can't get the viewer to show a full image. The image has the bottom 25% cut off.
I have reset everything I can think of and still no dice.

Also, local adjustments brush tool... what no keyboard shortcut for changing the brush size??  :-\

From the video I watched don't the [ and ] brackets like in Photoshop adjust brush size?

Kind of thought there would be problems from the start just like in every new version of C1. Usually best to wait for a couple of bug fix 6.X updates before taking the plunge.

Right-Click on the image after selecting the brush tool

Yair

or "[" "]" keys to adjust the brush size on-the-fly, as in Photoshop.

I'd say that trying to activate C1 6.0 with a brand new unused C1Pro licence key that came with my $30,000+ P65+  and being rejected as having "no update allowed"... counts as a bug.

Your P65+ can be used for absolutely free with Capture One 6 DB on as many computers as you'd like and without activation or registration. Every feature is enabled.

It's only to use Capture One with dSLRs that you ever have to pay anything. Hopefully the feature list added in version 6 is worth $99 (the upgrade price) to you to use with your dSLR files.

Note that you upgrade licenses at phaseone.com (if you use our code you get 10% off), not through the software itself.

- the command "save as icc profile" in the Color Editor ist missing (reported)

- when using a local adjustment that contains color edits you can't embed the camera profile when processing.
this is actually not a bug... quite the opposite as you simply can't merge two input profiles.
However in this particular case C1 chooses sRGB as output color space without warning or asking which profile you want to choose for output... so for me this is half a bug

I'm shooting tethered using a 5D MKII into a MacBook Pro and the large preview window does not update to the latest capture.  I can click on a thumbnail to see it in the big window, but that image stays there while I take more shots.  Under the camera menu, I've tried Auto Select New Capture  "Immediately" and also "When Ready".  Auto Pause is off.
Never had this happen before and I've been using C1 since it came out.

Yes as others say the [brackets] to change brush size do not work in Windows 7/64 version

and giving the layers unique titles does not work 95% of the time. double click to rename and nothing happens.

I would also appreciate the ability to alter the opacity of the mask brush, but guess thats for future versions.

Under local adjustments, only exposure is available to be adjusted.

Single Click to rename, not double click.

To whomever at Phase might be able / willing to answer :) :

Do you ever plan on adding live view functionality for (at least selected) DSLRs in C1 ? I would love to have the overlay function, for example,  available for my D3x :) .

Not sure if Nikon's SDK allows for this, but it is worth filing a request via a support case

Right on the start up CO6 gets frozen and shows the message:

"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." The pop-up window with the message is titled "ImgCoreSocket".

Basically here I have the end of my trial experience with the new software ))) Any clue??

I've noticed that processing an adobe RGB jpeg file into a sRGB jpeg file using C1 6 (and the jpeg settings inherited from C1 5) gives a file roughly twice the size as if it were done using C1 5.
