Walkie Talkies for landscape use? (USA)
« on: August 24, 2010, 06:15:44 pm »

I'm researching walkie-talkies for use when I am out with others on photography trips (in the U.S.). Need FRS/GMRS, with subchannels. I have used Motorola Walkabouts in the past.

Any recommendations on brands and models greatly appreciated.

I'd also be interested if there are options with more reach then the walkabouts.

I have a pair of small motorolas. They have a 3km reach and I love them. I can look for them and check the model if you need. They're a good 6 years old or so. I bought them for mountain hikes with friends. They are similar to these:

But much older and with less range =)
If my day job wasn't so cool, I'd quit and be a photographer =)
