Walkie Talkies for landscape use? (USA)
« on: August 24, 2010, 06:15:44 pm »

I'm researching walkie-talkies for use when I am out with others on photography trips (in the U.S.). Need FRS/GMRS, with subchannels. I have used Motorola Walkabouts in the past.

Any recommendations on brands and models greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

I'd also be interested if there are options with more reach then the walkabouts.

I have a pair of small motorolas. They have a 3km reach and I love them. I can look for them and check the model if you need. They're a good 6 years old or so. I bought them for mountain hikes with friends. They are similar to these: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-TalkAbout-MB140R-10-Mile-22-Channel/dp/B0036VNODA/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1282726937&sr=8-8

But much older and with less range =)
