HP easy printer care
« on: August 05, 2010, 02:56:32 pm »

Hi,
I have a Z3100 24" printer, when I try to open the HP easy printer care it comes up with a blank page saying" Address not Valid".I`ve tried re-installing all the printer software and drivers but it keeps coming up with "Address not Valid".
Can anyone help.

Yes. It's the software that came with the printer

Do you have the latest version of the utility already?
If so, I'd just toss it, download the 70 odd mb file from hp's download section, and use that.
Make sure you toss the entire previous utility file.
I'm a beginner so don't rely on what I'd do.
I'd also make sure I performed maintenance to the Z while I'm at it.
Yep toss the old download the new, hard reboot the printer using the new utility.
Import or create the new profiles using it.
I would shy away from firmware updates if your Z is chugging away.
Over and over I've been reading about buggy woes as the outcome for some % of users.
So again, I'm a beginner and wouldn't listen to anything I said if I were you,,,
also I'd unplug the computer from the printer before doing this nonsense

Is your machine connected via ethernet or USB?

I have the exact same problem as Andy.

File installs fine on my main computer, but double click it to run, and nothing happens.

HP, of course, was no help at all.

Fortunately, the Utility loads fine on another of the network computers so I can do my profiling from there.  But the whole thing is just so irritating.

Printer connected via ethernet if that helps anyone to troubleshoot for me.

Best to all,
DSR
