Epson 4800 and Moab Entrada 300 gsm paper
« on: July 16, 2010, 10:08:51 am »

Hey folks,

I've been printing on Moab Entrada paper for years now. I love their 300 gsm paper. But lately our trusty Epson Pro Stylus 4800 workhorse printer has decided it doesn't like this paper. It won't feed it from the paper tray. And the manual feed from behind is a hit or miss at best. I've widened the platten gap as wide as it will go but it still doesn't want to feed the paper.

Damn annoying!

Is anyone else using this printer/paper combo with success? If so please do share how your printer is configured!!

Thanks folks!!

I have trouble too with heavier paper trying to load if from the top feed. Forget about loading from the tray.

I would suggest using the straight paper feed but you need to have room in the back of the printer for the paper to come through.

If I remember right, the manual says "max weight for paper tray: 200 gsm".
I had the same problems with HahnPhotoRag 188 gsm and forced the tray (with tape) to bend the paper slightly.
And I also cleaned/rugged the feeding rollers with a smooth sandpaper.
