Exhibition "Proud to say it"
« on: April 04, 2010, 01:38:03 pm »

I wanted to post this a few days ago before the anniversary.

Did you know that 170 years ago in Washington DC that my great great great great grandfather design and made the very first photo exhibit in history.  In 1840, image of cities and portraits were exhibited and the crowds were amazed.  A new art form was made.  The president of the U.S. attended as well as congress and other prominent people.

So hats off to you grandfather, it must run in our veins.  Alexander Wolcott created the very first studio for photography and the first patent in the world for his invention in 1840 of a concave mirror for daguerreotype  camera.

That's very interesting, do you know what images were in the show.  Was it held at the Smithsonian.  You certainly have an interesting lineage between what you have invented and what your ancestry had invented.  good for you.

By the way what's the latest on the flower bloom in Cal.  JP
