Autochrome Plug-In

This may have been addressed before, if so, please point me to the thread. I have played with various effects in PS and PhotoPaint to process existing images to have the look of the better Autochromes. I can get "close" (which is highly subjective) in using blur and saturation controls. Unfortunately, there seems to be a point in the technique where the image starts looking like a hand-tinted B&W print, which is not at all what I am going for.

Is anyone aware of a PS plug-in that mimics Autochromes? Thanks.

I have seen a few original Autochromes, occurs to me that something like subtle "Diffuse Glow" might be well used in addition to the above.
