Hello guys!

I have a serious RAW-JPG conversion job running under quite heavy time pressure. We are talking about 6000 RAW files.

These files are in a folder structure with folders and in some cases underfolders.

Now the big question:

Does anybody know how I can automate the RAW-JPG conversion? Until now I just found the possibility to open the folder, select all files and doubleclick to open in Camera RAW and the simply hit the save-button (with the preferences set to size and file format and location).

But as the 6000 files are in around 800 folders I would have quite a lot of work opening all these folders.

Also: can the RAW files automatically be overwritten by the JPGs?

Thanks for input within the next couple of hours...

Best regards,

Clem

Well, no answer until now.

For those with the same problem sometimes later on: I could do an automation in Photoshop itself by fully opening one raw file through camera raw and recording this. Saved the file as JPG and closed.

Make sure you include all underfolders (checkbox) and here you go...

Best,

I think a script called Dr Brown's 1-2-3 process [ http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html ] should be able to do this in Photoshop, It is a beefed up version of the Image processor script. It will create output in whatever place [same directory as the original, or not] and format [including jpg]. It will NOT overwrite the RAW, which is good as you don't want to loose those.
If your RAW's are copies, you could delete them through Explorer on the PC: search for extension [NEF, CR2, whatever, select and delete

You don't need to worry about that, as no RAW file has a .jpg extension.
