Questions about 1ds

I have an original 1DS that I'm using a bit lately.  I notice the white balance on the camera is not good when shooting raw using Lightroom.

I would like to address the white balance issue.  If I shoot raw are there profiles I can use in Lightroom to make the image look better?  They are consistantly way off color-wise.

Try some ACR profiles or just use a grey card a bit more often - the WB with my original 1Ds was never overly accurate, but I never used it with LR.

That and keep your fingers away from the external WB sensor :-)

I have a 1Ds "classic" among other cameras. I wouldn't say its any better or worse than other cameras for calculating WB. But I always shoot RAW and use a ColorChecker if accurate WB is likely to be important.

Making a custom camera profile is likely a good idea; I've noticed significant improvements in overall color accuracy with mine.

 Did many a shoot with a 1Ds through Capture One and never had a single issue with white balance. Couple tips though. Avoid using auto white balance it was never accurate enough for my needs. Most of the time I'd run 5400K and always i mean ALWAYS use a gray card or color checker for each batch. Of course if your shooting outdoors and its mixed sun/cloud you'll have to pull many color checks throughout the shoot or your playing a guessing game. Plus i pretty much always shoot tethered anyways so... Might not be the most convenient methodology but it sure produces consistent quality.

BTW my favorite digi cam of all time is still the 1Ds. Love that thing ( still have it too but only for the memories now )
