Hasselblad Digital
« on: November 16, 2009, 08:57:47 am »

Before I start this isn't a post to knock PhaseOne. I have until recently worked with a P25 and I think Capture One is great.

What I wanted to say as a recent convert to the H system that it is really nice to see some good, informative posts about Hasselblad. The LL forum must be one of the best on the world wide web and until recently any visitor would have felt that the only backs being used were Phase ones.

There have been some very honest and informative posts by Hasselblad staff in particular David Grover.

Can't wait to get my hands on the H4D-60 I have on order.

Just a quick mention of my dealer in the UK. Paul Waller at Commercial Cameras has been really helpful in my migration to the H system.

Nothing is perfect, but I think it is fair to say that there is no good camera, only good photographers; and there is no bad camera, only bad photographers.  The notion of "nothing is perfect" is to me very encouraging, because that means there is a room to improve. I can't image we could live in a perfect state that left nothing else to be done.

I bought my Film Hasselblad from Commercial Cameras, and should have bought my Digital Hasselblad from there.

Paul at Commercial Cameras is a great guy. Commercial Cameras are now Hasselblad digital partners so can supply all the H system. Paul is also good at buying in and selling quality second hand medium format kit as well. In fact we negotiated a mega trade in which is what got me on the H platform.

In a world where the 'super warehouse chains' are on the increase Paul is a independent dealer with a passion for cameras and photography.  I have joked with him that he is more like a bespoke tailor!

Before this gets too biased the guys (and ladies) at Robert White are really helpful too.

I have Hasselblad H3DII-39 and it is an amazing camera no doubt.
I bought film Hasselblad [501cm] used from KEH.com not so long time ago [about 2 months ago], so i really like Hasselblad, but i am still dreaming to have Phase One digital back, and because of H3DII-39 i don't want anything less than 39/40mp from Phase One, so the only choice here is P65+, but because it is toooo waaaaaay pricey for me to afford it i will keep use my Hassy until the time i can afford something bigger than 40mp in digital back, and really i want to post more in this forum but it seems it will make me to hat and regret my Hasselblad, really it is nothing worse and weird than seeing some members here selling their H3D or 1DsIII, so what we can do then if those products are to be sold? we can't afford something better then, i have feeling that Phase One is the best digital back in the world so many would like to get it whatever it is here.
