filters for K-M A2

Hi

I have the Hoya Pro1 UV 3mm frame 1mm glass and that has an outer thread.  I not have spotted any obvious vignetting.

My A1 viginettes with a normal sized filter at the wide settings (not the widest), such as a Tiffen 812 49mm.  I would get the thinnest version you could.

perhaps someone can save me some trouble.  I would like to get (at least) a UV filter and a Polarizing filter for the 49mm thread of the A2.

i am concerned about 1/ vignetting, and 2/ having a threaded outside to secure the lens cap.

the 'slim' filters seem not to have a thread.  the 'normal' filters i fear will vignette?  

has anyone had success with filters, using my criteria?

thanks for your reply. i will look for this filter.  i wonder if anyone has specific polarizing filter experience as i think that they will be thicker than the uv filter?

For Polarizing filters on the 7xx/A1/A2:
Normal 49mm polarizing filters will vignette below 50mm.
There are slim polarizing filters, but they usually don't have a front thread.
You can use a 49-62mm step up ring and attach a standard 62mm polarizer to that. (supposedly 49-55 or 58 step up rings will work with one filter, but vignette with 2 filters)
You can use one of the Cokin filter holders and a matching polarizer. None of the Cokin holders vignette.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that Minolta had a 49mm polarizing filter that had 52 or 55mm threads on the front and didn't vignette.

I have an A2 and a 49 mm B&W slim circular polarizer. It is 4,5 mm high and there is some vignetting visible below 40 mm (equiv) . B&W is a german company and I don't know whether it is available outside Europe.[/font]
