Strong Posterization Issue
« on: September 03, 2009, 12:53:37 pm »

Hi to all,

Recently I wanted to darken a sky using the brush tool and lighten a foreground in some pictures.

But the result is a strong posterization in some areas.

Here are 2 examples that illustrate the fact.
Take a look at the farm and the sky.

Of course if directly lighten or darken without the use of the brush, the result is good, but not selective !!!

Any ideas or cure for that ?!

Have a Nice Day.

It ain't posterization....what you are seeing is the result of poor use of the Auto Mask. Try unchecking the mask and do the tone by hand and you won't see the artifacts...
