Missing live histogram in D3X liveview?
« on: August 11, 2009, 01:57:24 pm »

Hi, according to the manual, in the D3X tripod mode live view (with no zoom active) you are supposed to see a live histogram superinposed on the image.  Mine does not show this.  Anyone know what is wrong?
I can see the live view info, the tilt display, the exposure compensation but the live view never show up.  Am I doing something wrong? (I have read the manual)

Thanks

It's not displayed by default, I think you have to press the Info button a few times, or maybe one of the others. The manual should give more precise instructions.

I was somewhat excited about this feature until I realized it was only a luminance histogram, which IMHO is not all that useful if you're wanting to be really precise about exposure.

Actually, pressing info several times just cycles through the other options (level, info etc) but never shows the histogram.
I followed the manual exactly, but it never shows up.  Any one else have any ideas?

"Exposure Preview" must be active to get the histogram as one of the display options. You can toggle exposure preview on/off by pressing the OK button. Once you're in exposure preview mode, cycling through the display options with the Info button will give you the live histogram.

See manual p96 (and footnote #1 on the middle of p99)

Ok! Got it.
Thanks for your help!  Only complaint I have so far (and it's with the manual).
