Why interesting?

Do you think you can make any(??) judgment based on this video? I can't.

Hallo Uwe,

pretty simple, I'm quite astonished by the quality of the gh1 in relation to the 4times bigger chip of the canon ( just to name one thing).

I'm not sure which judgement I should make ( or you would like me to make) but the one thing I see is, that canon and the panasonic produce a quality good enough to make them useful tools.

the rest has to be testet by everybody for themselves...

Here is the
I think it tells you a tonne.
Red and Canon are amazing in low light, Canon a bit better. Image quality from the Panasonic is pretty except there seems to be some jumpiness and stutters to the frames.
The Panasonic still needs a lense adapter worth $2500 to get the ball rolling; so that giving you a $4k camera versus the Canon at $2700, the Canon is still football fields away in quality per dollar ratio.
The Red is just in a different level all together.

err I thought the 14 kit lens was pretty good and you can attach a whole range of DSRL primes with a $20 adapter can you not?

and, horror of horrors the kits lens has AF !

Huh?

Lens adaptors for the GH1, for everything from Leica M to Nikon, are under $200. What are you talking about?

He's talking about adapters to use with PL mount cinema prime lenses or suchlike

(which is what is used in that reel)

Those lenses do have advantage in 'pulling focus' etc

Ahha.

While true that the RED and some Epic and Scarlet models will take PL lenses directly, these lenses are very expensive to begin with, so the cost of an adaptor is the least of one's worries. A basic kit of 7 Panavision (Zeiss) PL primes is about $35,000, so the adaptor cost isn't much of an issue for anyone for whom this is of more than academic interest.

And as for the Canon, it can't even take a PL mount adaptor, so the point is moot.

My problem was that the scenes I liked (more the darker ons) we not available with the GH1. Also the scenes were very short.

Looks like the same people plan to do more. The good thing is that they seen to be professionals.
