Canon 5D2 with Nikon 14-24: Live view functionality?
« on: August 06, 2009, 08:51:57 am »

For those of you who are using a 16:9 adapteded Nikon 14-24 f2.8 on your 5D2, I have a question.  Does live view work just like it does with Canon lenses?  For example, can you move the magnify rectangle to all four corners of the screen to check focus?  Any other issues?  I don't see why there would be a problem, but I thought I'd ask before spending that kind of money.

Thanks,
John

Yes, it works just fine. I found when stopped down it meters a bit dark, so I over exposed a stop or so. You'll have to experiment to get it to work right for you, but that was my experience, other than that, yes, works just like any piece of manual glass on the live view system.
I was very pleased with the results.

I concur Liveview works well, I use manual mode and set liveview to exposure simulation and set info to display a histogram, almost too easy
