I'd like to have a discussion on the new TTL PWs and Canon flashes. Some questions that need to be set right could be
1. 430 RX II vs 580 EX II
2. Functionality of the 430 and 580 II and PWs
3. The new yet to be released PW controller.
4. Since the 430 doesn't have a PC input, will it still have the same functions with the new PW's using a PC adapter shoe?
and so forth and whatever else relates to this discussion, inlcuding RPs. With the release of RPs and PWs with full TTL + Manual + on camera power flash, there is just too many things you can do with these little flashes not to understand them and use them.
Since I now have 2 580EX IIs and one 580EX and I need at least one more flash, I'm contemplating rounding out my flash gun arsenal with two 430EX IIs to save 300+ dollars over 2 580IIs.
I was going to sell my 580+ STE-2 but now have different thoughts on the subject. If anything, I think I'd keep the STE-2 for low light focus. Something I didn't know is that using the 580EX II you can change power in ETTL (EV) and manual mode from the on camera flash itself. The new PW controller means you can free up the flash and do the same thing.
Let's just get it ALL on the table. Let's also make sure what we assert is true by backing it up with a before post test or page number from the manual.
