Heads up on the new A2 firmware

[font color=\'#000000\']Bob, all you need to do is to place an old image on the card in the DCIM\image folder ("image" is the folder name I'm forgetting right now). Turn the camera on and take a picture, and it should reset to one higher.[/font]

[font color=\'#000000\']I just found out that installing the new firmware resets many of the imporant settings to the defaults. I should have assumed this, but I went about 10 minutes into a session wondering why the automatic review wasn't working. Likewise, I was shooting in "Fine" (JPEG) rather than Raw.

[font color=\'#000000\']I used the file from the US site 1.12; not 1.12e (Europe). Maybe they are different? The do have different version designations.[/font]

I didn't write my settings down.

The one that upset me the most was that it reset my continuous fille numbering to 0001.[/font]

But, heretofore, my usual mindless process was to put a "used" CF card in and immediately reformat it.

I never add pictures since they are already transfered and backed up. Plus, I use mutiple cards at times to cover a day's activity. That's why I rely on the automatic camera-based sequential numbering.[/font]
