2) It's the only digital rangefinder currently available.

I agree, the narrowing of the much loved M series wideangle lenses is a disappointment, but Voigtlander offer some much wider lenses at very reasonable prices.[/font]

[font color=\'#000000\']As I understand it, the Epson Rangefinder has a 1.5 to 1 magnification factor. If you are used to Leica wide angle lenses, want a digital alternative to the M system, and are willling to shell out $2500 for a camera body, it seems to me that you would want a full frame sensor. Why would you want to turn your nice 24mm into a 36?[/font]

[font color=\'#000000\']IMO the 1.5 sensor is not horrible -- a 21 becomes a 32, which is going to be a GREAT all-around street focal, the 50 becomes a 75 which is a GREAT street tele and the beloved 35 becomes a 50(2).  

If you absolutely loved the 35 on your M, then you pop the 24 on the Epson and away you go.  If you liked really long RF glass, put a 90 on the Epson and you've got a compact 135. Lastly, the VC12 or 15 become superwide 18 or 22's.  In a nutshell, 98% of the most used RF focals remain available.[/font]
