There are pictures. The problem is Internet Explorer cannot show them. Use Firefox instead.
I am not driving traffic to other place. There is a less paranoic explanation: I think the subjects are interesting and relevant.
If you cannot reas Spanish you can translate the page by means of Google. You can see the pictures as well. They are eloquent.

As a newcomer to the forums (though not the site which I have visited for far too many years) I too disliked the use of abusive and insulting terms, and it gave me a poor impression of the forums. But to my eyes that last post is rather rude as it could be interpreted to mean that Nemo and maybe some others talk/post "BS, illogic and obfuscation". Rather than carry out what to me looks like a personal vendetta against one person, and lower the tone of the site, why not complain to the site admin? They can then decide what they want on what is after all their site, which I assume they pay for.

If anyone wonders why I post on this subject, rather than cameras etc, it's because I tend to read threads when I want to pick up useful info. My purely selfish desire is to read useful threads, rather than fights.

Thank you, milanissimo!

Nemo, if I posted links to English-language articles on Spanish-language forume you frequent and then called people "uncultured" if they complained about not being able to read the articles, you'd have every right to complain. If the language used in these forums was Spanish, I'd have no issues with your postings, but it's not. If there was a Spanish language section here and you posted links to Spanish articles there, I'd also have no objection. But to post them in an English-speaking forum and then denigrate people's level of culture if they object to having to wade through the garbled crap that comes from the best on-line translations because you're too lazy to provide an English version of the article for those of us who don't happen to speak Spanish is extremely arrogant and condescending on your part. If the article isn't worth your time to translate to English (the most-spoken language in the world), then I have no reason to believe it's worth my time to bother with hashing through the gobbledygook of an online translator in an attempt to read it and glean anything useful from it.

Learning a second language is not a trivial undertaking unless all you want to do is be able to insult people's mothers and ask where is the bathroom. I'm currently considering a career change that would involve learning Arabic courtesy of the US Army, and the language training alone will take over a year of full-time study. Not everyone has that kind of time and opportunity to spare just so they can read a few articles about photography of unknown usefulness written by rude, condescending foreigners.

Milanissimo

I think that your posting was rude and aggressive and has no place in a public forum. No-one says that you have to like Nemo's postings, but please learn to express yourself without abusing him. If you wish, complain to the forum maintainers about Nemo and let them decide.

As an aside, I find it odd that when Jonathan is abused, he complains, but he then applauds when someone insults another forum user, and he then joins in. Hypocrisy?

he should find 2-3 hours to translate the article to English (after spending ?? certain number of hours of testing it...)

I will try, but not at this moment. I think the work needed cannot be done in 2-3 hours. I thought the pictures are eloquent enough. The pictures at different ISOs are interesting. Besides, the links in the article (external references) are in English.

I would like to translate other articles but, believe me, this means a lot of work.

There are only three reviews of this camera in Internet. I think a new one will complete the picture.
Besides, this camera is interesting by itself.
Contax brand could come back.

I'm fully capable of reading and comprehending what I read. What I'm asking is how a "new" review (which doesn't even have any sample images) of a flawed and long-discontinued camera from a company with an extremely uncertain future in a language few of the posters here can read is relevant to the readers here?

Nemo's recent posts here have been nothing but attempts to drive traffic to his Spanish-language site, which is not the point of these forums.
Blimey, there's no need to be so aggressive.

All I can say is that I found the link very interesting. I have not seen a statement from the moderator(s) and or site owner that these forums can only be used to discuss the latest stuff, though someone more knowledgeable might be able to locate one if it exists.

It is easy to translate the page, though some online translators are better than others. I wish there were more links to foreign reviews, and restricting oneself to the English language (well, okay, the American language in most cases) means we miss out on a lot. I can read French, and for the rest I can get an okay translation online.

It would be helpful if those who post a link to a foreign language site also post a link to an okay online translator, since some are a big naff.

Yes you are. You have a total of 14 posts here, 9 of which are in threads you created specifically to advertise articles on your site.

Your articles would be far more interesting and useful if you posted them in a language everyone else in these forums understands without having to resort to the web translation services that mangle the language down to the level of a semi-literate third grader, and you learned how to link images properly so that more than one browser actually displayed them.

...as I´ve said before (I´m in risk of starting to look too boring or too stupid, or both  ) I dont seen the need for your

I have a low tolerance for BS, illogic and obfuscation. It's completely disingenuous to claim that one is not primarily concerned with driving traffic to a third-party site when somewhere in ithe neighborhood of 67% of one's posts are in threads created specifically to do just that. Doing so is not a crime, but let's at least be honest about it. I'm not being harsh, I'm just calling a spade a spade. IMO, "harsh" is calling people "douche bag" and other such insulting names, not presenting a logical argument as to why their statements are incorrect. Even if you disagree with my approach, I regard you as neither boring nor stupid. You are at least capable of presenting an alternate view without calling names or other personal attacks.

And thank you for the compliment regarding my equestrian shots.

So do yourself and us a favour and post your articles in english.

I write regularly in Spanish forums, where people point to English, French or even Japanese sources without problems. If I am not interested in the link, I don't click on it. If I cannot read the article, I go for a translator. It is my problem. I am an adult and I solve my problems. I don't insult the person that show the source or write the article. You can see a French analysis of the Contax N Digital in my quoted sources. I did not write to the author asking for a translation.

I never had problems posting other-language sources in forums. Never, nowhere. Spanish, French or other English sites. This has been the first violent reaction I have had (insults included).

The only browser that causes problems with that site (it is not my site) is Internet Explorer. Firefox, Safari, Opera... work fine. I cannot correct the problem at this moment, sorry.

I did not call you "uncultured". I said you could "improve" your cultural level learning other languages. I don't know for sure how low is it. This was a kind advice, after you wrote several posts insulting me.

A full translation to English needs a lot of work, and I have no time at this moment. It is not a problem of "arrogance" (?). Whether the article is not worth your interest, by whatever reason, don't waste your time in it or insulting other people. Life is beautiful. Do other things in other places. Learn other languages, for instance.

"Rude, condescending foreigners". I think you are the rude and violent character in this Canadian forum. Maybe they are good attributes for the US Army.

I've never shied away from speaking my mind, and I have never whined to Michael or any other moderator when people disagree with me, even if I think they are obnoxious, annoying, and stupid. Debating or criticizing someone's ideas is not the same as targeting insults directly at the person. And that's where I draw the line.

When I commented on Milanissimo's post, I hadn't noticed the "If I was such an idiot as you seem to be" bit, and I don't condone that statement. IMO that crosses the line between vigorous debate and personal attack. In fairness, the same can probably be said of my "rude, condescending foreigners" and I apologize for that.

Jonathan: Here are some examples from a recent posting of yours, directed at Nemo:

"because you're too lazy to provide an English version of the article"

"extremely arrogant and condescending on your part".

The above look confrontational, aggressive, and personal to me. Then there is also the line about foreigners that you agree is over the top. I could dissect other postings if you wish. But I think I have said more than enough on this matter that does not directly concern me.

Chill out dude.

It's the mushroom season, a reason to be cheerful.

I myself have a site for our spanish speaking community in my city -Bogota- and I have a lot of fun doing it. It is also a nice place to show images I cannot publish in my real job which is fashion photography. Check it out. You too Jonathan.
Sorry its in spanish, but thats exactly the point. At least the pictures can be seen.

Jonathan: If you think that Nemo is wrong to post as he does on this forum, then can I again suggest that you contact the forum owners and let them decide rather than taking it upon yourself to bully another user. I read French and would welcome links to French sites. I like the links that Nemo posted, and I found an acceptable machine translator. I don't think that Nemo denigrated other people.

In my view your postings are rude and arrogant.
