Help Viewing Large Resolution Images Online
« on: May 10, 2009, 07:42:10 pm »

Hi All,

I would like to know if you can point me to good tools for displaying high-resolution panoramas online,
it's really a crime to show a 75000x25000 image as 900x300 or so...
So far I'm aware of Zoomify, not in love with the interface and how the pano is displayed/panned.

If possible a Free or cheap tool and simple would be ideal, I'm just an amateur photographer that wants
to display images without scaling them to destruction.

Thanks for any help!
Luigi

You could try

http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk/software/googlemapimagecutter.asp

The principle of operation is essentially the same as zoomify, but you might prefer the Google Maps interface.

I use Zoomify myself, and was not crazy about the UI, either, until they updated it recently. Not sure when you checked, but the v4 has much nicer UI than the older version.
