Yes, yes, yes!!! Pleeeeze make this happen.

How the hell hard can it be to mod the back of a 645NII to take a Phase back? Really, seriously. We put people on the moon in 1969.  You'd think a nerdy kid with a dremel tool and some solder could have sorted this out years ago.

But I rant.

The Pentax 645 system was arguably the nicest out there, and had superb lenses. I would kill to be able to go back to MF with a pentax in my hand.

I'd even fly to Tokyo to pick it up

Wow.  That is an ugly camera.

I generally regard cameras as tools.  I don't care one bit how they look and don't pay much attention to color.  But damn.  That camera is... wow.  I'm at a loss for words.  Hideous.

Good point. It was damn fine television, though.

It is from the people who brought us the K20D "Stormtrooper Edition" in white......

Have they not chucked that ancient mockup in the garbage yet? They seem to trot it out once every two years with a new announcement but it's no more than a joke.

I understand they already cancelled the pink and green versions.

That has got to be the fugliest camera I have ever seen. Sorry, Pentax 645 digital? Where do I sign up?

IMO Pentax is the only MF camera manufacturer that really grasped the needs of location and landscape photographers.

Ok, I'll play lightning rod and say I like the camera's styling--it's a sort of future/retro submarine look.

The lenses could match better though to make a better "Gotham City" styled setup.  I think it's cool.

(Not that I think it'll ship... Again...  But we can hope.)

Well it looks bulky and front heavy, but id like to see a new competitor in the mix. Who knows maybe they can shake things up a little if the price is right.

I've not used a Pentax MF camera, but I've come to the conclusion that Contax also paid some attention to the needs of location/landscape photographers.  It's also a nice system for those of us who shoot outside of the studio.

Sad that it's dead too.
